Bark, sniff, and lick your way through the apocalypse to save the humans you love! Good Dog, Bad Zombie is a cooperative board game where everyone plays together as a heroic dog pack. Together, you’ll explore a post-apocalyptic city while sniffing out scents, barking at the undead, and herding humans to safety.

- Play as sixteen different dogs, each with unique powers, to help rescue humans in hiding.

- Take actions on your turn like, “I’m going to lick myself for two energy.”

- Cooperative play that’ll have you howling with joy!

- 1 - 4 players, 60 minutes to play.

- Play the game as your own dog with our custom dog card creator!

- This 2nd edition has upgraded components.

- And because we know you're wondering: Can dogs get hurt in this game?! Heck no! Dogs can't get hurt, they can only get startled. Humans on the other hand, well... zombies do find their brains tasty.

Good Dog, Bad Zombie also has three expansions: Weird Smells, Puppy Pack, and Unlikely Allies.

Overview

“I cannot stress enough how incredibly sweet and charming this game is. My wife and I are both dog lovers, my wife is a zombie hater and yet she really enjoyed this game! …It’s a keeper for us.”

- Rahdo Runs Through, 100k+ YouTube subscribers

GDBZ is an immersive dog-mind experience. Every single detail is saturated with flavor. It wouldn’t really surprise me if it was designed by an actual dog, or maybe a kindly werewolf. I mean that in a good way.

- Everything Board Games

The theme of the game is a lot of fun: I love the way that the scent cards describe the dogs’ reactions to things, the names of the various locations, and the silly flavor text on some of the energy cards.

- GeekDad

...a refreshing and entertaining take on a zombieland setting...

- The Cardboard Republic

Good Dog, Bad Zombie’s execution of its theme is really well done. If you love dogs and dog puns, you’ll love seeing how dogs might view a zombie infested world. While zombie apocalypses are typically bleak, the dogs keep this game feeling cute and “hoomorous.”

-Meeple Mountain

This is the only game I’ve played where “licking” is a primary mechanic... GDBZ is billed as a charming zombie apocalypse game told from the perspective of dogs, and the designers really delivered on that promise.

-Hi Adventure

Save the Humans!

Zombies roam the city, but you and your doggo friends have found refuge in Central Bark. Cooperate as a pack to sniff out humans in hiding and bring them back to safety! On each turn you’ll choose two actions:

• RUNNING through the city to get to friends or smells.

• LICKING yourself or others, drawing you energy cards.

• SNIFFING the smells of the city to uncover humans and their stories.

• BARKING or HERDING to move pieces around the board – humans, zombies, or your fellow dogs!

• CHEWING the zombies that just keep coming!

• And most importantly, BEING A GOOD DOG by using the special power unique to your dog!

As you play cards, you’ll howl to give energy to your pack, and zoom to chain together many actions into mega-turns!

01

Stumbling Zombies

But beware! After every turn, a new zombie enters the city. They’ll block your path, eat any hoomans they find, and get closer and closer to Central Bark! Work quickly, pups, because the zombies will push your Feral Track higher and higher. If it reaches ten, you forget what it means to know the love of a human!

Eleven out of ten stars. This is the best game of all time. Name another game where you can make your own pet a main character - I won't wait for an answer, because even if there is another game out there with this capability, it's definitely not as good as this game.

Aside from the AWESOMENESS OF PLAYING AS YOUR OWN PET, the gameplay is super easy and fun. Easily digested mechanics, no way to actually injure your pets, and customizable? Absolutely sign me up.

This game is really fun. There's a little bit of a learning curve but we had it down about halfway through the first game. Lots of replay value.

Loads of fun and it is great that you can put your own dog in the game as a character!

I love this game! It’s fun even with just two players (one who enjoyed it even though he usually doesn’t care for board games). The cooperative play aspect and the great video made learning a new game stress free. My favorite part is being able to make game pieces personalized with the photos of my dog and the dogs of my friends and family. Also love the fact that the personality characteristics we assign our own dogs gives them each individual super powers!

Backed the Kickstarter and so glad I did. Fun and challenging, and the expansions add so much more variety to the playstyle than we imagined. Build is also extremely well-made, quality is off the charts.

M

fun cooperative gameplay, doesn't require a really long rules explanation!

Why don't more games let you chase zombies off of cliffs? Why don't more board games let you spend a turn licking yourself? These are the questions that the makers of Good Dog, Bad Zombie set out to answer. And quite frankly, I'm stunned no one tried before. These are vital questions that need to be answered, and I am glad someone finally had the guts to do it.

Okay but really, this game is a lot of fun and truly unique. Miss Fuzzy Ears FTW!

L

This game had us laughing the whole time. My only complaint is the die rolls that determine where the zombies come out can be a bit random at times but I guess it's okay because you have to figure out as a team how to deal with it. We really liked it.

C
Cameron

The zombies are a bit too random. Otherwise, good game.

C
Carlos

There are a lot of dogs with unique abilities so there's a lot of replay value. Also I have to give kudos for how well the rulebook is written.
